About Tracey Williams
The person I moved to Bargara to help is the very same person who introduced me to massage, my lovely mum Carolyn. My earliest memories of massage are as a child we would sit in a circle, my sister, mum, sometimes cousins and aunts and we would massage each other’s feet with reflexology books that as kids we didn’t really understand except the colours represented a body part- gee that’s sore what’s that ?. Years on my Mum broke her neck in an accident in Bargara and who would think all these years later as a remedial massage therapist I would be able to help her, she particularly loves hot stones and lymphatic drainage.
I became a therapist after experiencing a lot of pain myself and going for many, many treatments, I remember thinking I need to understand this better and here I am today, I thought there have to be so many people like me. I had a few surgeries after being diagnosed with breast cancer spending a lot of time in and out of the hospital, I recall celebrating my treatment being over, with chemo and radiation therapy behind me I was ready to get on with my life, I just didn’t realise the year after was when the real pain kicked in and my journey began and has not stopped. Our body is amazing – shoulders, hips, neck, feet, fascia and the impact tension and dysfunction has on our bodies.
After completing my remedial massage diploma, I became particularly interested in pain patterns, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (make sure you read the information on the lymphatic drainage massage, I wished I knew about this earlier in life) trigger points and now the kinetic chain and myoskeletal therapy.I found l loved heat, there is nothing like a hot shower to ease tension, when I trained in remedial hot stone massage I loved combining remedial techniques with hot stones and so did my clients. Cold stones can also be very effective in the right application. Those who know me know I love learning, I’m often up at crazy hours partaking in training from mentors at odd hours due to Timezone differences.
I have found that no treatment is the same, as we all want and need different things from our treatments, when you make a booking, you will be emailed a confirmation with your appointment details and a client intake form link, when you arrive we will discuss, test and plan your treatment that’s why I like to add an additional 10 or so minutes for your first appointment.
I work a few days each week please be sure to plan your appointment ahead of time.
